Birdwatching is an activitie able to all people from all ages, individually or with a group.
Allows a direct contact with the nature and brings benefits to the body and mind with no need of great physical effort from the participant.
Natural preserved areas with good hosting structure and cataloged local bird species are the best to explore this activitie . Generally the itinerary of birdwatching tours has its special schedule, different from the touristic tours times and should be made with a specialized bird guide.
Trekking around the lodge
Eco Park Lodge (Pousada do Parque) offers easy and medium difficult level trails. They take you to the observation tower (550m distance), seasonal waterfall from December to July (380m distance), sandstone formations (450m distance), arqueologic site with rock paintings (1,3 Km distance), also the primary woods trails (1,5 Km distance) with old large trees and endemic vegetation.
Tours at Chapada dos Guimarães National Park
VÉU DE NOIVA:
The “Véu de Noiva” waterfall and lookout, is the most famous and most visited spot of Chapada. It is 86m tall, close to the giant sandstone walls, making a big canion with the forest and Coxipó river. Open with free entrance from 9am to 4pm, with an easy access trail of 1,1 Km inside the Park.

CIDADE DE PEDRAS:
Located at the highest part of the National Park, 20 Km away from the city of Chapada, from this point it’s possible to see Rio Claro’s valley and the great sandstone walls.
**Access only with local guide and a 4x4 vehicle is needed.
VALE DO RIO CLARO:
Beautiful scenario throughout its valleys, clear water rivers and sandstone walls typical of National Park’s landscape. Reaching the top of Crista do Galo, sandstone formation in the valley, getting wet at Poço das Antas natural pool and floating through the Rio Claro river are the best local attractions. Medium difficult level.

WATERFALLS TOUR:
Total circuit of 12Km, visiting 7 waterfalls inside the National Park. It takes around 5 hours to complete the tour depending on the group’s pace. Medium difficult level.

MORRO DO SÃO JERÔNIMO:
São Jerônimo mount is one of the highest points of Chapada’s National Park with its 836m height. From up there it’s possible to see the great sandstone walls, mounts, as well as the flat land of Cuiabá with a 360° panoramic view. The full circuit takes about 7 hours to trek its 16Km distance. This tour is a hard difficult level, you will need to climb a little bit, so it’s important to have some good physical conditions.

CACHOEIRA DOS NAMORADOS E CACHOEIRINHA:
Access through a light 1 Km trail from the National Park entrance. Open from 9am to 12pm.

Outside of Chapada dos Guimarães National Park:
CIRCUITO DAS CAVERNAS:
Located in a private farm, it is 46 Km away from Chapada. The circuit takes you to 3 sandstone caves, one of them the biggest sandstone cave of Brazil (Kiogo Brado) which means “Home of the souls” in Bororo language. At the end you can stop by the Relógio waterfall for a bath. It takes about 5 hours to complete the tour with a medium difficult level. Tickets at the entrance at R$ 90/person.

CACHOEIRA DO MARIMBONDO:
Around 6 Km away from the city of Chapada, it’s in a private property. The access is through a 200m trail. Tickets at the entrance at R$ 10/person.

CACHOEIRA DA GELADEIRA:
Around 7 Km away from the city of Chapada, it’s in a private property. The access is through a 200m trail. Tickets at the entrance at R$ 10/person.

CACHOEIRA DA MARTINHA:
Martinha’s waterfall is about 38 Km away from the city, with easy access and free entrance. It’s a combo of 3 waterfalls with a great water volume. There is a parking lot at the place charging R$ 10/car.

ALTO DO CÉU:
One of the bests lookouts of Chapada, it’s possible to see the great sandstone walls and even Cuiabá. There are other trails at the lookout where you might find some wild animals. Tickets at R$ 20/person.

MORRO DOS VENTOS:
Local food restaurant and lookout view. Souveniers shops and benchs to relax and enjoy the view. From up there it’s possible to see Cuiabá. R$ 20/person.

BALNEÁRIO DA SALGADEIRA:
Great option for families with young kids, there is a waterfall, a small lookout view and a restaurant. Free entrance. Parking lot R$ 10/car.
