About Us
With a small structure of only eight apartments, it was all built with logs reused from woods already cut. It has affluent treatment plant and a pioneer project of solar heating and cooling in partnership with German authorities. Its prime location combined with the scenic beauty of Chapada, sandstone walls, makes it the ideal place for observation of more than 250 species of Cerrado birds, in addition to numerous species of animals, insects and the most varied species of vegetation endemic to the region. Right next to the Inn, we have trails of easy and moderate levels, two seasonal waterfalls and a gazebo. Our restaurant, Teta de Loba, has a breathtaking view of the National Park, where guests take the opportunity to have a wine or beer and taste our dishes watching the sunset or moon rise at the end of a full day of activities. To relax, we offer a swimming pool, a sauna, and a Shala, for Yoga lovers.
Chapada dos Guimarães
The natural grandeur of the Chapada dos Guimarães justified the creation in 1989 of the National Park that bears its name. Conservation and its surrounding area are the largest sandstone cave in Brazil, waterfalls as the flagship Bridal Veil, a profusion of orange stone walls and beautiful rivers. Scenic beauty in a variety of environments, and the contemplation of different species of flora and fauna of the Cerrado are some of the attractions of the National Park (Parna) Chapada dos Guimarães. In addition to being marked by the relief diversity, the park is part of the Upper Paraguay River Basin, protecting headwaters of the Cuiabá River, one of the main tributaries of the Pantanal.
Cerrado
The Cerrado is an ecosystem of enormous ecological importance with many areas of spectacular beauty, as the National Park of Chapada dos Guimarães, only 60 Km North West from Cuiabá airport.
The Pousada do Parque has an environment target to stimulate responsible visit to the National Park and its surroundings as well as helping to increase the individuals of the Maned Wolf (Crysocyon brachyurus), the largest South American "canidae" and considered threatened specie. The wolves and its feeding habits are essential for the preservation of the Cerrado as an important seed disperser for different fruits and plants as well as regulating the populations of small animals such as wild rats and snakes. The main threats to the Maned Wolf are:
- The dissemination of diseases by domestic animals, mainly dogs;
- The persecution by land owners who accuse the wolves of eating their chicken;
- Speeding cars on roads close to their naturral habitats.
